Introduction to Computer Information System
Computer information system is system which is composed of people and computers and whose function is to interpret and process information.
Computer Information System can be seperated into five different parts. These are as follows:
- Hardware: These are electrical equipment which run the CIS. These include monitors, keyboards, CPUs, printers, servers, workstations, which work in synchronization with each other to accept, process , show data and information.
- Software: These are the programs that allow the above mentioned hardware to process data in a meaningful and synchronized way.
- Databases: These are the files and tables of the database system containing the related data. Databases also acts as centralized server for procurement of data.
- Networks: These are connections of various terminals that allowes diverse computers to distibute resources, data and power.
- Procedures: These are the commands or software instructions which combines the above components to process information and give a prefered output.
